ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ॥ 

My Lord, rid me thou of birth and death.

ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰਿਓ ਦੁਆਰਿ ॥ 

Having grown weary, I have fallen at Thy door.

ਗਹਿ ਚਰਨ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗ ॥ 

By virtue of the Company of the Holy, I have clung to Your feet,

ਮਨ ਮਿਸਟ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ॥ 

and the Lord’s colours are sweet unto my mind.

ਕਰਿ ਦਇਆ ਲੇਹੁ ਲੜਿ ਲਾਇ ॥

Mercy, attach me to Thy skirt.

ਨਾਨਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇ ॥੧॥
