ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl:
(Embarking on a spiritual journey guided by the fifth Guru’s wisdom.)
ਜਿਸ ਕਉ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨਪਤਿ ਦਾਤਾ ਸੋਈ ਗਨਹੁ ਅਭਾਗਾ ॥
One who forgets the Lord of life, the Great Giver – know that he is most unfortunate.
(Forgetting the divine, the source of life and gifts, is the greatest misfortune.)
ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਜਾ ਕਾ ਮਨੁ ਰਾਗਿਓ ਅਮਿਅ ਸਰੋਵਰ ਪਾਗਾ ॥੧॥
One whose mind is in love with the Lord’s lotus feet, obtains the pool of ambrosial nectar. ||1||
(Love for the divine, symbolized by the Lord’s lotus feet, leads to the immortal nectar of spiritual fulfillment.)
ਤੇਰਾ ਜਨੁ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥
Your humble servant awakes in the Love of the Lord’s Name.
(In the devotion to the divine name, the true servant awakens to spiritual consciousness.)
ਆਲਸੁ ਛੀਜਿ ਗਇਆ ਸਭੁ ਤਨ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਿਉ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
All laziness has departed from his body, and his mind is attached to the Beloved Lord. ||Pause||
(With the mind’s union with the divine, all lethargy fades away, signifying spiritual awakening and alignment.)
